The Board has an FDNY Company Patch for each Fire Company and face picture for each Firefighter who lost their life on Sept 11th

It's a lovely memorial with alot of time gone into it and a credit to the members of Matawan Fire Station

Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall FD

IAFF Local F-253 is located on Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall in Arlington, VA, which is home to the 3rd Infantry Regiment, US Army Band, Army Fife and Drum Corps, US Marine Corps and numerous civilian and military administrative personnel.

We also provide response to Fort Lesley J. McNair in Washington, DC and the Arlington National Cemetery. On top of all of that, we also provide Aircraft Fire / Rescue at the Pentagon, as well as mutual aid to the Arlington County Fire Department and surrounding NOVA jurisdictions.

We are a 31 personnel department in which the Assistant Chiefs, Captains, and Firefighters work a 48 on / 72 off work schedule. Our Apparatus fleet consists of 2 Engines, 1 Reserve Engine, 1 Battalion Chief, 1 Crash Truck, 1 Special Operations Unit, and several Utility / Support Vehicles.

Before my recent trip to Washington DC i was challanged by a facebook group "Flag Runners" who are close friends with the Familes and Firefighters in Bray to find a Special Fire Hydrant in Arlington National Cemetery

Not one to turn down a Challange i set out on Friday 16th Oct to find this Fire Hydrant in Section 23 on the 624 acre site

It was a pleasure to find the Hydrant and Place 2 x 2Euro Coins (1 each for Brian & Mark) and tape a Fire Ireland Patch there also

There is a plan in place to try get this Hydrant named in Honor of Brian and Mark
