Aer Lingus Ireland's national carrier celebrated its 75th Birthday on the 27th May 2011. To mark this Aer Lingus unveiled an Airbus A320 painted in its 1960s livery. The aircraft, called the St Coleman, was showcased at ceremony at the original terminal at Dublin airport. Here it is pictured alongside Dublin Airport's Rescue 4

A transatlantic flight made an emergency landing at Dublin Airport Monday (16/04/2012) after a passenger's mobile phone was found recharging in a toilet. The Delta Airlines flight, which was carrying over 200 passengers, made the landing after reports of a suspicious item on board. It was travelling from Istanbul to New York.
Upon roll out on landing on runway 10 the wheel brakes overheated and this situation was promptly, and efficiently attended to by the DAA fire service.
