Cork City Fire Crews from Anglesea Street safely dealt with a Road Traffic Collision Sunday evening 7th July in Little Island. A complex incident due to the presents of a live animal. Crews made the scene safe, reopened the road and ensured the safety of the animal with the use of our Rescue Tender. ~@CorkCityFire X



County Clare 30th June 2024

The driver of an articulated lorry escaped injury after his vehicle ploughed through a crash barrier destroying a long segment of the safety rail on Sunday 30th June. The truck’s cab remained on its side on the hard shoulder however its trailer was left hanging down a steep embankment. It’s understood the truck was not carrying a load at the time.

The single vehicle collision occurred at around 9.00am in the southbound lanes of the motorway on the Ennis side of Junction 15 at Crusheen. Units of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service from Ennis and Shannon stations responded to the scene along with National Ambulance Service paramedics and Gardaí. The truck driver was assessed at the scene by paramedics but was found to be uninjured and didn’t require hospitalisation. ~The Clare Herald

A motorist had a lucky escape this afternoon after his campervan was blown across a busy road and through a stone wall during stormy conditions in Co Clare. The incident occurred at around 2.00pm on the main R478 Lahinch to Doolin coast road where the busy route crosses its highest point at the Cliffs of Moher. Units of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service from Ennistymon station, National Ambulance Service paramedics and Gardaí responded to the scene. The male driver of the vehicle managed to escape uninjured however. ~The Clare Herald

Scene of a RTC on the Dunmore Road on Wednesday night 27th December during stormy weather when a tree fell ontop of a taxi injuring the driver. Fire crews from Waterford City Fire Station alone with National Ambulance Service attended the scene. The driver was treated for minor injuries in hospital.

shortly before 6.00pm at the junction of the R472 Airport Road and Bóthar Na Luachra outside the Shannon Aviation Museum Iin County Clare on Saturday 23rd December while additional crews were dispatched from Ennis station. They were however stood down en route. ~The Clare Herald

One person has been taken to hospital following a road traffic collision in Ennis Tuesday evening 7th November. The incident occurred at Station Road in the town at around 4.30pm. Two cars were involved in the initial collision however one car then collided with a parked vehicle.

Two ambulances and several units of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service from Ennis station responded to the scene along with Gardaí. ~The Clare Herald

Emergency services have dealt with an incident involving a truck near Doora this afternoon. An articulated lorry left the road and crashed into a field at Noughaval between Doora Church and the main Ennis to Quin road shortly before 4.00pm. Four units of Cork City Fire Brigade attended a call for a double decker bus colliding with a railway bridge at lower Dublin Hill just before 9am on Monday 12th June. The bus wasnt in service at the time and the driver recieved medical attention at the scene. The road was closed until the bus could be recovered.

County Clare 14th January 2023

Four people have been hospitalised, three with serious injuries, following separate road traffic collisions in Co Clare. Emergency services from three countries responded to the scene of the collisions involving a total of five vehicles on the M18 motorway at Dromoland at around 10.30pm on Saturday.

The crashes, which occurred following a heavy downpour of hailstone, resulted in both sides of the motorway being closed. Gardaí responded to the scene followed by a number of National Ambulance Service resources from Limerick and Clare as well as units of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service from Ennis and Shannon stations.

County Cork 2nd January 2023

The of a single-car collision at around 9.50am on Tuesday 2nd January on the R612 near Carrigaline, sending the van veering off the road into the River Owenabue. Emergency Services attended the scene and fire crews from Carrigaline and Crosshaven were able to rescue the driver from the van.

One person has been taken to hospital following a road traffic collision near Clooney, County Clare on Tuesday 6th December. The incident occurred at around 8.15pm at Knockanoura and involved a tractor and a car. Gardaí and National Ambulance Service paramedics were dispatched to scene the while Clare County Fire and Rescue Service was also requested to assist.
