Major Fire Waste Recycling Plant in Ballyfermot, Dublin 9th January 2021

8 units of Dublin Fire Brigade seen attending a Major Fire in a Waste Recycling Plant in Kylemore Ind Estate in Ballyfermot on Saturday evening 9th January. Crews remained on scene throughout the night and into the following day with assistance from specialist vehicles including a Turntable Ladder, Water Carrier, Foam Unit and Water Support Unit Pod.


Operations were scaled back on Sunday 10th as the fire was brough under control and water pumped from a nearby canal to the fire ground. ~@DubFireBrigade Twitter


Update Sunday 10th January @ 1pm

Around 15 Firefighters and 3 appliances remain on scene at the waste facility at Kylemore. The fire was brought under control before midnight, however deep-set pockets of fire continue to burn. Please continue to keep windows and doors closed if you are living close.~@DubFireBrigade Twitter

Twelve Firefighters and two fire appliances remain on scene at the Kylemore waste facility fire They are working with the company’s staff to move all the waste from the buildings and to extinguish hotspots DFB advice is to continue to keep windows and doors closed in the area~@DubFireBrigade Twitter
